Think Active is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare, both physical and emotional, of every child and adult at risk, who participates in activities either directly organised by Think Active or through a third party working collaboratively with us.
Think Active recognises the that potential abuse can come not only from adults in positions in authority but also from other young people. Think Active will offer guidance and training (including contextual) in best practice regarding safeguarding of vulnerable adults and children and people.
The Think Active children and young people safeguarding policy is informed by the HM Government “Working together to safeguard children” guide to inter-agency working.
The Think Active adult safeguarding policy is informed by the Ann Craft Trust.
Both policies detail procedures for administrators, coaches, instructors, officials, teachers, parents and young people. Crucially, they both recognise that all individuals have a duty of care to provide a safe environment and protect bith vulnerable adults and children and young people from abuse.
