Satellite clubs provide opportunities to take part regularly in sport and activity through the creation of enjoyable, convenient club opportunities for young people that are designed around their needs and provide a positive experience of being active.
Satellite clubs have helped thousands of young people to get active and are primarily focused on young people, aged 14-19, who aren’t already active – particularly those who are in groups typically under-represented in sport. Being empathetic what is central to young people and what their needs are is the foundation when developing a satellite club. Satellite clubs should then be planned to meet those needs and provide a positive experience that leads to young people getting confidence to take part.
